About two years ago I was going to direct a music video for the band of another friend, an extra I met on a production, but three days before the shoot they decided they did not had the money to go for it, even though it would have been quite cheap but they were still a band looking for a label and could not afford it.
However since I had already made contact on a bar where we would be able to shoot for free, I still wanted use the bar for something and decided to shoot a video for Stagger Lee, just for fun. ~Ricardo Mesquita

Grinderman - "No Pussy Blues"

19th February sees the release of No Pussy Blues by Grinderman on 7", CD and download. The CD and 7" pressings of this single are b/w Chain of Flowers. Both tracks are written by Grinderman, produced by Nick Launay, recorded at RAK Studios in April 2006 and mixed at Metropolis Studios. The video for No Pussy Blues was shot in London and directed by John Hillcoat, director of The Proposition and many Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds videos. The extras cast for the video are all fans that responded to an open audition call posted on Grinderman's myspace site where the video can now be viewed: www.myspace.com/grinderman
