Cave to do second feature film

ImageNick Cave has penned his second feature film, Death of a Ladies Man.Industry press at the Cannes International Film Festival reported today production on the film would go ahead in London in September but no budget details had yet been released.The film will be directed by John Hillcoat, who also helmed Cave's first feature, The Proposition, last year. The Proposition lead actor Ray Winstone is also attached to the film, which tells the story of a travelling salesman who trawls the south coast of England hawking beauty products. The salesman (Winstone) finds this the perfect way to meet lonely women and feed his desperate and indiscriminate addiction to sex. The film will be financed by FilmFour, the movie-making unit of British broadcaster Channel 4. Former FilmFour chief Paul Webster will produce the film through production company Kudos Pictures.

Image The Proposition, a new film written by Nick Cave, will premiere in New York City May 5. The film, directed by John Hillcoat, features a superstar cast including Guy Pearce, John Hurt, Ray Winstone, Emily Watson and Danny Huston.

Nick Cave was originally set to write just the music for the film but he became involved in the script writing at the suggestion od John Hillcoat.

"I didn't feel I had much understanding of dialogue. I knew I coul work out a story well enough, I'm basicaly a narrative kind of songwriter, telling stories is what I do. But I thinh I would have problems with the dialogue. Once I sat down and started though it felt really good and I very much enjoyed the process of writing it and telling the story."

Previously available on VHS, now released on DVD for the first time! 'The Road To God Knows Where' is a film by Uli M. Schueppel featuring a cast of Nick Cave, members of the Bad Seeds as well as Anita Lane, Lydia Lunch, Jim Thirwell and more. 'Live At The Paradiso' is a full-length live concert from the famed Paradiso Club in Amsterdam from 1992 featuring Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds performing "The Mercy Seat", "The Ship Song", "Tupelo", amongst others.
