Secret show at London King's College

Thursday, 27 September 2001
Pulp, Nick Cave and Billy Bragg all played a surprise secret show at London King's College on September 25 to commemorate veteran radio and television man John Peel's 40 years in broadcasting.

The trio of acts each played brief sets, recorded for broadcast at a later date on BBC Radio 1, with each thanking Peel for what he has done for them, and talking warmly about their memories of the man.

Following Billy Bragg, Nick Cave, solo onstage with just a piano, played old classics 'The Mercy Seat', 'Into My Arms' and 'God Is In The House' from new album 'No More Shall We Part'. [NME]

North American Tour Cancelled
Written by Administrator
Thursday, 13 September 2001
In the wake of this week's tragic events in New York, Washington, and Somerset County, Pennsylvania, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds have decided to cancel their entire North American tour previously set to run from September 18 through October 9. The band members feel that it is inappropriate and disrespectful to be performing concerts in a country that is, as described by its president and media, at war. While regretting any disappointment this causes their fans, they believe this is a time to be at home with their families. All of them extend their deepest condolences to those who have lost family or friends as a result of these reprehensible acts.[www.billions.com]
