Foul-mouthed, noisy, hairy, and damn well old enough to know better, Grinderman are Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos.
Born of babbling lyrics hatched from Bosch eggshells in the Hyde-bound apocalyptic margins of the Cave brain, the Grinderman sound is an instinctual yawlp that also resurrects the demons of each musician’s past: the trashcan proselytising of Birthday Party -era Nick; Sclavunos' late 70s New York no-wave noise wisdom; Martyn Casey’s ominous Triffids bass reverb; plus Ellis' avant-garde soundtrack work and his teenage love of Black Sabbath. Destination: Out! |

All Tomorrow’s Parties takes great pleasure in announcing that the next curators for ATP in April, 2007 will be The Dirty Three. The Australian three piece are known for their inspiring and haunting instrumental compositions that are richly evocative and we are delighted they have agreed to curate the event which is set to take place on April 27th – 29th at Butlins Holiday Camp in Minehead. Confirmed to play on the weekend with The Dirty Three, will be a solo performance by the legendary Nick Cave, who headlines the event. Also confirmed to play are Grinderman, Papa M, Low, The Drones, Tara Jane O'Neil, Magnolia Electric Company, Brokeback and Faun Fables. More to be announced soon.
