Cave to Receive Honorary Degree |

 Nick Cave, who in 2008 received an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from Monash University in Melbourne, is set to add another degree to his growing collection. On June 24th, Cave will be honored with a Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Dundee. In addition to speaking at the ceremony, Cave will also be reading from his latest novel, The Death of Bunny Munro. |

The Road, directed by John Hillcoat and starring Viggo Mortensen, is now available on DVD. The film, based on the Cormac McCarthy book of the same name, tells the story of a man and his son's struggle for survival in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. In addition to being directed by Hillcoat, who has repeatedly worked with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, the film's moving soundtrack was composed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. |

Grinderman announce new album and European tour |

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds side-project Grinderman have announced their second album. The album will be the follow-up to their self-titled debut (released in 2007) and is simply called Grinderman 2, and it will be released on September 13 on Mute, and September 14 on Anti in North America. The album is co-produced by Grinderman and Nick Launay (who also mixed the album), the producer of the group’s debut as well as the three latest Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds studio albums, and it was recorded in London 2009. Grinderman consists of Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn P. Casey and Jim Sclavunos, all members of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. The band have also announced a twenty-date European tour during September and October in support of the album (tour dates below). source: onethirtybpm.com

Released Tuesday, the next batch of remastered albums from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds include Tender Prey, Henry's Dream, and The Good Son. The albums have been digitally remastered in 5.1 surround sound, and also include b-sides, acoustic takes on classic songs, music videos, and further chapters in the Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard documentary, Do You Love Me Like I Love You. The documentary features insights into the albums from those involved in the music's creation, such as Blixa Bargeld and Mick Harvey, fellow musicians, and fans. |
